I had a great time this weekend visiting with all the alumnae who came in from out of town. I definitely enjoyed watching two very competitive alumni games, with the "old ladies" beating the current team 3-2; and the "old men" coming up just short, 3-4.
Thank you Chris Aaland and the FLC athletic staff for putting on the event.
Thank you Kate, Damian and DYSA, for putting together all of the kids' activities and the BBQ.
A massive thank you to the refs - who took quite a bit of abuse for a friendly exhibition! I hope you'll volunteer your time again next year, thanks!!

Tom Settle and Zane Wells (FLC Team '09) have helped lead the Baton Rouge CULT Capitals to 2nd place in the Southeast Division of the USL Premier Development League.
Settle has 2 goals and 4 assists so far! Way to go Tom and Zane! Playoff Semifinals are Friday July 30th for anyone in the Mississippi area. All Matches are at Harper Davis Field, Millsaps College, Jackson, MS.

I'm excited to announce that I'll be moving from the Alumni Office to Skyhawk Athletics immediately! I've been hired as the new assistant director of athletics for external operations and communications and have resigned as director of alumni relations at FLC. The 2009 national championship video is now on YouTube! Three chapters are currently up; the history chapter is too long and is being edited into shorter versions. When you go to YouTube, search for Fort Lewis College national champions and/or Explore FLC Soccer.
We might be looking at the wrong sport with this question. The Der Van Der Helms just finished 10-0 and out scored our opponents by over 100! 2010 Summer Der Van Der Helms get my vote for best FLC team ever, also in the final game of the season Finley went yard twice! He is STRONG!
The Irish Embassy Pub hosts a fundraiser for the FLC soccer teams
The #1 Fort Lewis College Men’s Soccer Team is headed to Tampa, FL for the NCAA Division II Final Four National Tournament to try to reclaim the national title for the program’s second time ever, and the Irish Embassy Pub is rallying them on. The Embassy is planning a celebration/fundraiser after the team arrives home on Sunday. The private party will kickoff at 5:00pm at the Irish Embassy Pub, and both the men’s and women’s soccer teams will be in attendance. A limited number of tickets are being sold. Ticket prices include food and drinks at the pub, with all proceeds being donated to the FLC soccer scholarship fund. read more »
