FLC women's basketball plays Franklin Pierce in the NCAA Division II Final Four at 5 p.m. Mountain Time tonight (Wednesday, March 24) in St. Joseph, MO. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Steve Miller and I are out in St. Joe's for the games. Yesterday's semifinal win over Seattle Pacific was huge - 9 point win. Two more wins and women's basketball gets its own trophy.

Please welcome the newest Hooligan, Silas Joseph Fredrick!

The 2009-2010 FLC Athletic Hall of Fame class has been officially chosen. Congratulations to the 1999 men's soccer team, Kate (Kelly) Stahlin, Martin Dirks, Bill Cooke (football player in the '70s, coach in the '80s) and Chrystal (Pesicka) Schmitten (softball player in the late '90s) on being chosen for induction.

The ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at a location to be determined - most likely the Henry Strater Theatre, but possibly the Student Union Ballroom. The team and individuals will also be recognized during the basketball games that night.

Congratulations to all!!! More details to come.

Toga! Toga! Toga!

To all helms and hooligans, near and far. I'm sporting a toga to Saturday's Irish Embassy Pub party. I've been called out lately by certain FLC administrator types for putting too much effort into bar events and athletic events. Thus, I'm calling upon the spirit of Bluto himself to bring another title to the Fort.

I'll be sporting a toga on Saturday at the Embassy ... plus argyle socks (for that wanker, Gunn), my Ska/1999 jersey (for the original helms), an Old Fort hat (because it matches the Brazil jerseys), and my soccer wristbands (which will be outdated with their one star after about 3:30 p.m. Saturday).

Appetizers are on me for anyone who wears a toga. I hope I run up a big, fat bill. read more »

Let's sit behind the UCCS bench today. Those guys were disrespectful punks at last night's volleyball. Time for the houligans to get off their asses and make some noise.
