On a chilly night in southern Denver, the 2009 Fort Lewis Men's team took a final curtain call. Division 1 University of Denver had requested to christen their new stadium against Fort Lewis College, but not the upcoming 2010 version, they wanted a shot at the champs. Queue the 'Rocky' music.
It was good seeing the boys back out there sans Settle and Sam. We did see some new wrinkles out on the starting line up with Keane alongside Thomas Hoang in the middle and Cory Dean outside right. Blackwell filled in as the new leftback position. The starting lineup to the best of my memory was, Euan, Barden, Dimo, Keane, Hoang, Dean, Wood, Jamie, Fabian, Blackwell and Zane. read more »
Holy crap, check this video out. My buddy works for the Mountain Sports Network and was at this game. He said it was unreal.

Nutz, did you coach this girl in your brief stint at UNM!?!
If anyone has looked at the All RMAC selections, please tell me I am not the only one who is a little upset.
First, Euan had 17 goals, the closest behind him was a Mines player with 12. His total points during the season was 37, the next closest was 28, which was Settle. AND THIS IS ONLY IN 14 GAMES! How does a Metro player who was 4th in points and 3rd in goals get the OFFENSIVE player of the year award? read more »
Sorry for the couple of day delay on getting the write up out here, it was a wild weekend.

Homecoming at Metro State today, and I doubt there will be many repeat attendees after the performance from the Roadrunners. Fort Lewis outclassed Metro all game, even in a game where the Fort played one of their lesser matches.
Bored at work and saw that Coony equalized for the Railhawks at an away match up in Canada.
Here's the link to his goal. Vintage stuff. Celebration a la Mines '06

A very solid showing for the boys last night as they utterly dominated and came away with a 1-0 victory. Settle slotted home a PK around the 60th minute after a deliberate hand ball in the box. The scoreline does little to reflect on the quality of play from the Fort. It could have easily been 3 or 4 if it wasn't for very near misses and a couple lucky deflections when the ball seemed sure to find the net.
The starting line up looked like this:
-----Euan------Barden-------
-Byron----------------Settle--- Subs: Hoang (CM), Dimo (LM), #13 (FWD) JUCO Transfer
--------Keano---Jeff------------
-Sam--Fabian--Jamie--Wood-
------------Zane----------------- read more »
I'll be making the mini trek down to the AFA tonight to watch the boys in their first preseason exhibition. Should be a good one as well. I'll get a write up on the game as soon as I get back.
Anyone else heading over?
