Way too much time in the Offseason

HARDIN's picture

I'd like to start by saying 2009-2010 sports season my have been the best of my life as a fan. Not only did the Fort run the table, but my University of Alabama Crimson Tide ended our 17 year painful dry run and claimed the whole damn thing too.

I am in Tampa currently and met up with an old friend of mine who played right back for Tampa the past few seasons. In speaking with him and fellow former/current UT soccer players, they loved watching the Fort play due to the style and fluid nature of our game. They wish they could of pulled their heads out against Lees McCrae in the Elite 8, I told them I would let them see a national championship ring if they really wanted to. read more »

Jamey King's Sister...not really.

If anyone has looked at the All RMAC selections, please tell me I am not the only one who is a little upset.

First, Euan had 17 goals, the closest behind him was a Mines player with 12. His total points during the season was 37, the next closest was 28, which was Settle. AND THIS IS ONLY IN 14 GAMES! How does a Metro player who was 4th in points and 3rd in goals get the OFFENSIVE player of the year award? read more »

Game Recap - FLC 2 - Metrosexuals 0

HARDIN's picture

Homecoming at Metro State today, and I doubt there will be many repeat attendees after the performance from the Roadrunners. Fort Lewis outclassed Metro all game, even in a game where the Fort played one of their lesser matches.

Coony's Goal vs. Montreal Impact

HARDIN's picture

Bored at work and saw that Coony equalized for the Railhawks at an away match up in Canada.

Here's the link to his goal. Vintage stuff. Celebration a la Mines '06

Air Force Recap

HARDIN's picture

A very solid showing for the boys last night as they utterly dominated and came away with a 1-0 victory. Settle slotted home a PK around the 60th minute after a deliberate hand ball in the box. The scoreline does little to reflect on the quality of play from the Fort. It could have easily been 3 or 4 if it wasn't for very near misses and a couple lucky deflections when the ball seemed sure to find the net.

The starting line up looked like this:

-----Euan------Barden-------

-Byron----------------Settle---      Subs: Hoang (CM), Dimo (LM), #13 (FWD) JUCO Transfer

--------Keano---Jeff------------

-Sam--Fabian--Jamie--Wood-

Air Force Tonight at 6

HARDIN's picture

I'll be making the mini trek down to the AFA tonight to watch the boys in their first preseason exhibition. Should be a good one as well. I'll get a write up on the game as soon as I get back.

Anyone else heading over?

FLC v. Mines Match Report

HARDIN's picture

Different year, same Mines team. One or two players and 9 to 12 other donkeys in and out of the game. Some long throw ins and a flip throw or two.

Overall, FLC controlled the match from the jump flying at Mines. With Jamie suspended for the match, Jeff swung back from the midfield to center back where he played last year, and Settle moved into the center of midfield.

The wind was blowing across the field all game and it was bitter cold, so Mines long ball game was ineffective. FLC saw most success coming down the right side of the field with Kyle Wood flying at the Mines back four. Some unfortuate deflections inside the penalty area stopped us from being up 2 or 3 at half, and Wood hitting the post.  read more »
