C'mon
If anyone has looked at the All RMAC selections, please tell me I am not the only one who is a little upset.
First, Euan had 17 goals, the closest behind him was a Mines player with 12. His total points during the season was 37, the next closest was 28, which was Settle. AND THIS IS ONLY IN 14 GAMES! How does a Metro player who was 4th in points and 3rd in goals get the OFFENSIVE player of the year award?
Second, Frank as coach of the year? Really? Oige took over a program in early July, one month before preseason, and lead them to a 17-1 record, perfect in the regular season for RMAC, and allowed only 4 goals, amassing an amazing goal differential of +61 in regular season, +75 overall. I doubt that will ever be duplicated. Talk about coaching, he took a program and turned a good RMAC side, into a National contender.
Third, how does a defense that allowed only 4 goals in conference...2 off PKs if I am not mistaken...only get 2 out of 5 defenders in the RMAC teams. Zane on the 1st team which is so deserved it is ridiculous, and Sam on the 2nd team. You are telling me the two Regis defenders that made 1st team deserved it more than Woody, Jamie or Fabian. Insane.
Lastly, how does Keane not get a mention? Because he was out for the last 3 games of the year? You miss an award if you were mugged and sent to the ER? Anyone who knows soccer and watched the Fort play knows he was the most influential player on the field all of this year.
I know the results are the only thing that matters, and I know the boys will steamroll through this weekend and bring home the cup. I just hate to see the program and the boys who work so hard every minute out there, get slighted by what seems to me to be a slight Denver based bias.
I am the only one thinking this or do I at least have a point here?
